Sen. Lorraine Inouye
Lorraine has over 30 years of experience and dedication to public service for the State of Hawaiʻi in the elected positions of Hawaiʻi State Senator, Mayor of Hawaiʻi County, and a member of the Hawaiʻi County Council. Lorraine also has vast experience in the private sector as president of a small business and has served on and chaired many committees over the years.
In 1990, Lorraine became Mayor of Hawaiʻi County where she stayed in office through 1992. In 1993, she went on to become the President of Aloha Blooms, Inc., a 10-acre anthurium farm in Hilo where she is still president to this day. Lorraine served as Senator of District 1, from 1998 to 2008, where she headed many committees from economics to transportation and military affairs. Lorraine is honored to return as Senator of District 4 in 2014.
