Interim Director and Administrator
Talmadge Magno is director and administrator of the Civil Defense Agency for Hawai’i County.
He is a graduate of Hilo High and University of Hawaii Hilo with a BA in Geography and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Basic Law Enforcement Academy. Retired as National Park Service (NPS) Ranger, with 30 years and worked in; all hazard emergency management, law enforcement, emergency medical services and firefighting.
He previously served as the Chief Ranger of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for 8 years prior to retirement. Twenty years served with special events and tactics teams with the NPS.
